| 1 | Dark Saffron | Pulled off a big upset with victory in the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen (1200m) at this course and distance on Dubai World Cup Day last April. Has mixed his form since, however, and trailed home a number of these last start. Can figure if near his best. |
| 2 | El Nasseeb | Has been superb since returning from a lengthy layoff, winning comfortably at this course and distance last month and earlier this month. Was victorious in the key lead-up race, the G3 Dubawi Stakes (1200m) last start and looks among the main chances. |
| 3 | Mufasa | Well-travelled galloper won eight of 10 starts in Chile before moving to the United States and prevailing a further three times, including twice at G3 level. Has had three runs in the United Arab Emirates, the latest being a second behind El Nasseeb in the G3 Dubawi Stakes (1200m). Good chance. |
| 4 | Drew’s Gold | Was third in this race last year before finishing last behind Dark Saffron in April’s G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen (1200m). Wasn’t seen again until December, comprehensively winning a handicap in his first start for Bhupat Seemar, and can run well again despite missing a lead-up assignment. |
| 5 | Morning | Broke a lengthy winning drought when prevailing over the dirt 1200m at Sharjah just on 18 January and makes a swift return to Meydan. Connections will be hoping the quick back-up sparks their charge but he looks a place chance at best. |
| 6 | Colour Up | Eight-year-old continues to front up and was one of three among this field to cross the line behind El Nasseeb in the recent G3 Dubawi Stakes (1200m), finishing third. Was second in this race 12 months ago and is a place chance again. |
