The Racing Club (TRC) was proud to announce the introduction of The Racing Club Syndicate, an initiative designed to give more Members the chance to experience the unparalleled thrill of racehorse ownership. The official launch took place on The Racing Club Cup Day 2026, one of the Club’s most anticipated annual events, held at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 11 January.
Mr Jackson Woo Ka Biu, Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Chairman of The Racing Club’s Board of Directors, announced the launch of this syndicate initiative. Through the Syndicate, Members can now join a vibrant community of racing enthusiasts and share in the ownership of select high-quality racehorses. The Racing Club – a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hong Kong Jockey Club – will also participate in the Syndicate to jointly own the horse and act as Syndicate Manager and Treasurer with its experience in horse management, to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience for all participants.
Members will purchase shares for an initial fee proportionate to their ownership stake, covering horse acquisition and importation, along with affordable monthly contributions for stabling and livery. In return, they will enjoy exclusive owner privileges and a proportional share of prize money, making racehorse ownership more accessible than ever before.
“The Racing Club Syndicate opens the door for our Members to step into the exhilarating world of racehorse ownership, while enjoying the prestige and experiences that come with being part of The Racing Club,” said Mr Andrew Harding, Executive Director, Racing, The Hong Kong Jockey Club.
“There is already significant demand for additional ownership opportunities based on feedback from The Racing Club Membership base and we hope that this will continue the strong growth in Syndicate ownership by TRC Members, which has currently reached record levels with over 250 Members now taking part in syndicates”
The initial Racing Club Syndicate will comprise of 35 shares with Members eligible to purchase 1 share per membership account. The Racing Club will aim to purchase one horse in the 25/26 racing season and additional syndicates may be formed in the future based on increased demand.
The launch coincided with The Racing Club Cup Day 2026, which featured five horses already owned and raced by The Racing Club – Young Bravo, Young Champion, Young Emperor, Young Fighter and Young Horizon, with Young Emperor winning the Hung Mui Kuk Handicap (Race 7, 1200m).
The day also marked by the announcement of a new partnership with the prestigious Royal Ascot Racing Club, granting reciprocal members access to exclusive clubrooms at agreed race meetings at both racecourses, along with tours for Major racing events such as HKIR and Royal Ascot and joint initiatives throughout the year.
Since its introduction in 2007 as a special membership category of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, The Racing Club positioned horse racing as a premier lifestyle offering for passionate younger fans. With six venues across Sha Tin and Happy Valley racecourses, signature dining experiences and a calendar of exclusive lifestyle events, The Racing Club continues to offer Members a unique blend of racing passion and prestige.
The Racing Club Syndicate represents the next chapter in this journey – empowering Members to deepen their racing knowledge, share in the ownership experience and celebrate the excitement of racing together.
