1600m – Turf

Agraciado

Has 3 wins and 6 placings from 22 starts. Most recent win came over 1800m here in March, 2024. Backmarker who needs to improve.

Beau Monde

Posted successive wins over 1600m at Nakayama and Tokyo before failing when 6th as favourite over 1800m at Fukushima. Better suited at 1600m.

Cadency Mark

Never far away with 3 wins and 10 placings from 24 starts and returned to winning form with victory over this course and distance in September. Likes to race forward.

Canicule

Building a good record with 3 wins and 3 placings, including G2 third, from only 10 starts. Looks a winning chance again, one of the main contenders.

Epoch Venus

Ran on strongly for 3rd last start over 1600m at Kyoto and won over this distance in Kyoto in February. Has claims.

Fine Line

Consistent type and one of the chances based on last-start 3rd when charging to the line from the home turn at Tokyo. Talented galloper.

Glory Link

Racing very well with 2 successive wins before last start 5th over 1800m at Tokyo when he had a tough run from a middle gate. One of the chances.

Joyful News

Racing in brilliant form with 3 wins and 2 placings from 5 career starts. Looks to have plenty of potential and the one to beat.

Maruchan

Form has been inconsistent since winning here over 1600m in December last year. Backmarker who needs luck.

Perifania

Impeccably-bred filly related to champion Efforia and boasts G1 placing behind Liberty Island. Disappointing performance last start when started favourite and managed only 14th over 1400m at Tokyo. Can rebound sharply.

Pick A Cherry

Showed plenty of promise with 3 wins from 4 starts last year but recent form is fair, including last-start 5th over 1600m at Nakayama.

Red Attreve

Had been racing well until last 2 starts, including 11th over this course and distance in September.  Capable of much better than his recent form suggests.

Sam Hunter

Veteran with 3 wins and 10 placings from 43 starts. Recent form has been uninspiring since winning here over 1600m in April.

Seven Magician

Has run respectably at G1 level and placed in G3 contest. Better than recent form suggests and can improve on last start 3rd over 1800m at Kyoto.

Showman Fleet

Struggling to reproduce the form which saw him win twice last year and did nothing from barrier 1 when 13th last start over 1600m at Niigata in August.

Teumessa

Ran 3rd in this race last year behind Go To First and was an improved 6th last start over 1600m at Tokyo. Cannot rule out.
