1800m – Dirt

Brave Sugar

First crop of Mischevious Alex, a promising new sire by Into Mischief and out of Speightstown mare. He dominated the G1 Carter Handicap by 5.5L and began stud duties in Japan in 2022.

Generous King

His sire Rulership is the winner of the QEII Cup in 2012. Dam is from the same family as Hat Trick, a winner of the Hong Kong Mile in 2005, giving this horse a bloodline with strong and familiar ties to Hong Kong racing.

Geostrategy

He is by Declaration of War, the winner of the G1 International Stakes and the G1 Queen Anne Stakes, out of a three-time winner Moere History by Falbrav.

Grass Feather

The sire is Gold Dream, winner of the G1 Champions Cup and fifth-place horse in the Saudi Cup. In his final piece of work, he was ridden out fully and maintained a strong finish all the way to the line. His build appears well suited to middle-distance dirt races.

Jiji Jet

Sire Mozu Ascot proved a true “two-way” performer in his racing career, capturing both the G1 Yasuda Kinen on turf and the G1 February Stakes on dirt. His progeny likewise display a wide range of tendencies, producing top-class performers on both turf and dirt.

Jun Saku

His stallion Pyro is a one of the top sires of winners on dirt in each and every one of the past six seasons. His progeny is highly sought after at sales, with both popularity and prices continuing to rise.

Kitano Epique Un

Sired by Best Warrior who is a proven dirt specialist, having captured five dirt graded stakes, including back-to-back victories in the JPN G1 Nambu Hai.

Krautrock

A colt by Nadal. Has shown steady improvement with each workout, combining work on both the woodchip and the uphill track to reach a good level of fitness. From the same family as Hishi Iguazu, the runner-up in the Hong Kong Cup in 2021 and his older siblings also performed well from their debut races, so strong showing can be expected first time out.

Lord Trident

The sire is a G1 winning sprinter Danon Smash. While progeny of his sire tend to be sprint type, this horse has a calm, laid-back temperament and appears capable of handling more distance. Might be a leading candidate.

Luath Gloir

Sired by Leontes, who most strongly inherited the versatility of his sire, King Kamehameha, and has gone on to produce successful runners in turf and dirt races, at a wide range of distances, both in Japan and overseas. His dam is from the same family of an eleven-time winner and the multiple graded race winner Incantation.

Morono Rapido

Sired by American Patriot, a G1 winner in his racing career. His dam is from the same family of the multiple G2 winner Air Eminem.

Neo Ambo

The 2025 JRA Breeze-Up Sale graduate is by Declaration of War. His dam is from the same family of the multiple graded stakes winner Alluring Voice.

Noce

She is sired by Chrysoberyl, the JRA Best Dirt Horse in 2019. This 2yo is one of the first crop to race.

Ryugo Pure

His sire Real Impact is the first crop of Deep Impact and the G1 winner in both Japan and Australia.

Salsa Brava

Sired by Sinister Minister, a stallion known for producing capable dirt performers. He may lack a sharp turn of foot, but he appears capable of sustaining a long, strong drive, and his pedigree suggests he is well suited to this track and conditions. There is a clear sense that he can perform well from his debut.

Sundog

From the first crop in Japan of sire Declaration of War, which has sired 30 graded stakes winners, including seven G1 winners.
