The Stewards have approved an application submitted by Mr F C Lor, the trainer of last start winner REGAL GEM, to add a Hood to the gear carried by that horse in the stated race.

The Stewards interviewed Mr Lor who advised that with REGAL GEM stepping up in distance from 1200 Metres to 1650 Metres for the first time, he applied a Hood in its barrier trial on 9 December 2025, when ridden by Jockey K C Leung. Both Jockey Leung and Mr Lor were satisfied that the addition of this piece of equipment will assist the horse settling better over a longer distance.
