The Hong Kong Jockey Club will stage the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Race Day this Sunday (23 November) at Sha Tin Racecourse, where global champion Romantic Warrior – the highest-earning horse in racing history – makes his seasonal reappearance alongside equine stars Ka Ying Rising, Voyage Bubble and My Wish.

Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses open for admission at 10.45am with the first of races at Sha Tin scheduled for 12.45pm. The event kicks off with a special opening performance by renowned Hong Kong Cantopop band Grasshopper and popular singer Jace Chan at Sha Tin.

Three Group 2 races headline sporting action
Ten races are programmed for the day at Sha Tin, with the spotlight on three Group 2 contests, each offering HK$5.35 million in stakes: BOCHK Jockey Club Cup (2000m), BOCHK Private Wealth Jockey Club Mile (1600m) and BOCHK Private Banking Jockey Club Sprint (1200m).

World’s best sprinter and Hong Kong Horse of the Year, Ka Ying Rising, will aim to defend his title in the BOCHK Private Banking Jockey Club Sprint; 10-time Group 1 winner Romantic Warrior faces Triple Crown hero Voyage Bubble in the BOCHK Jockey Club Cup, while rising star My Wish contests the BOCHK Private Wealth Jockey Club Mile. The races serve as key lead ups for December’s HK$130 million LONGINES Hong Kong International Races (14 December) at Sha Tin.
