G1 – 2200m – Turf
Mission Of Joy | Some defeats – though not disgraced – in G2s here at Del Mar but a narrow 2000m G2 victory at Santa Anita in October provides some hope.
Stellify | Her victories so far at a lower level but clearly an improving filly with a winning habit. Impressive when landing a valuable G3 at Kentucky Downs in September.
Atsila | Needs to handle the rise in trip but optimism from her pedigree and fast ground is expected to suit. A close third in a Leopardstown G1 in September.
Village Voice | A big filly who enjoyed success at up to G3 level when trained in Ireland. And won a G3 over this trip at Aqueduct recently. This looks harder.
Gezora | A sustained forward move saw her win Chantilly’s Prix de Diane. Couldn’t make a big impression in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and fast ground here maybe not ideal.
Diamond Rain | Trainer has slight concerns about this tight track. But delivered a career best when her powerful closing charge in a 2000m Woodbine G1 only just failed.
Be Your Best | Quickly made up for a slow start when winning an 1800m G1 at Santa Anita in May. Decent G2 placed efforts since but a few others preferred.
Cathedral | Not beaten far in a fast-ground G1 at Royal Ascot. But this step up in trip is not guaranteed to suit. She’ll be an outsider.
Cinderella’s Dream | Below best on last two starts but the return to expected fast ground is surely a plus. It was fast when she won a G1 at Newmarket in July.
La Kika | A multiple G1 winner in Peru. But that form is very vulnerable here and beaten a long way in a G2 at Santa Anita.
Bedtime Story | No wins in her last nine starts but they’ve all been challenging G1 tasks. Interesting if the expected fast ground suits.
Bellezza | Improved since moving to the US with smart efforts at around this trip. Impressive when landing a 2200m G2 at Saratoga in August.
She Feels Pretty | Landed a G1 at Saratoga in June despite racing too keenly. And gained her fifth G1 victory with a tough display at Woodbine in August. A live player.
See The Fire | A high-class UK-trained filly boasting some worthy G1 appearances, coming very close to winning one at ParisLongchamp recently. Possibilities.
