Continues to find it difficult to break through since G1 1400m win more than a year ago. Forget latest run when no luck in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) when 4.2L 7th.  Has won twice at the track and can improve.

Port Lockroy

Struggling for a win since last saluting in G1 last November. He might have some excuses but past 3 have been poor, including latest 10 of 11, beaten 4.26L over Listed 1400m at Flemington. The 1600m suits but he needs to lift quickly.

Desert Lightning

Former New Zealand galloper who is G1 1600m winner at home and G3 winner in Australia. Raced wide without cover last start in Caulfield G1 1600m when beat 1 home. Won here 3 starts ago and can bounce back.

Rise At Dawn

Scored at the track and distance last year. Won a recent 800m jump out after 2.29L 2nd in G2 1500m at Rosehill at short odds when lead. Handles any track condition and will have plenty of support.

Golden Path

Was a bit plain last start when 13 of 14 in G1 2000m at Flemington. Before that was excellent in G1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) when 0.48L 3rd after racing on the pace. Leading contender.

El Rocko

Led to the 50m mark of the Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) before finishing 0.46L 3rd on 12 October. Is honest and consistent and worth consideration.

Von Hauke

Finished 4th in this race last year, beaten 1.21L, after coming from well back and suffering interference late. Was solid last start in 1400m Listed 0.61L when 3rd. Rise to 1600m is ideal.

Oh Too Good

Last start G3 winner over 1600m after previous start working too hard early and not be able to finish off here over in G2 1500m. Will again race on the pace and will take plenty to run her down. Leading contender.

Rumbled Again

Veteran mare struggling to make an impact this campaign with best effort at Moonee Valley four starts ago when 3 of 10 over 1523m. Finished last at most recent run when didn’t handle firm Caulfield track. Hard to enthuse about.
