| 1 | Prince Tycoon | Is first up after a gusty win on debut at Caulfield in May, followed up 13 days later with a 1L 2nd over 1000m on the Gold Coast. Won a 1000m jump out to prepare for this and is rated highly, especially fresh. |
| 2 | Napoleonic | Strung two 1200m handicap wins before tackling G2 class where he finished 2.49L fourth over 1200m. While he didn’t finish off his last race, he is rated one of the main dangers. |
| 3 | Virtual Illusion | A perfect record of 2 starts for 2 wins in South Australia. Got well back in both wins, latest came from last over 1000m. This is much stronger but could measure up. |
| 4 | St Edward | On pacer who was 2nd on debut at Mornington over 1200m and then won a 1200m maiden here on 3 October. Will put himself into race and has solid claims. |
| 5 | Ornithology | Made a winning debut over 1200m at Ballarat on 6 October. Kept in striking distance, then took over for a 0.06L win. Will need to improve again to feature here. |
| 6 | Cacchione | Made his debut in a maiden here on 3 October. Jumped fast and led and was run down late by St Edward to lose by 0.5L. Was a game effort and he is worth following. |
| 7 | Palm Angel | Speedy filly who has raced 5 times for 2 wins, including the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) in February when she raced handy. Not run to suit when 4.27L 10 of 18 in Listed 1100m at Flemington on 13 September. Chance. |
| 8 | Snow Mercy | Imposing record with 2 wins and a second from only her 3 race starts. Second in a 1050m maiden and then won a 1100m handicap in South Australia before progressing to a 1200m G3 here on 26 September, winning by 0.75L at good odds. Toronado filly with a big future. |
| 9 | Live | Raced only once when she claimed a 1147m maiden victory at Geelong on 2 October. Settled last of the 7 runners and was the widest when the field straightened. Chased hard for 0.15L victory at short odds. Respect. |
