G1 – 1000m – Turf
1 |
Art Power |
A veteran UK-trained sprinter with a terrific record when he visits the Curragh. After a 294-day absence he ran an encouraging G3 fourth over 1200m here last month. |
2 |
Bucanero Fuerte |
This very speedy colt has won both starts this season, latterly leading throughout in a 1200m G3 here last month. Aggressive tactics likely on the menu again here. |
3 |
Erosandpsyche |
His four career wins have all come at this pure sprinting trip but at a lower level than this. But he did run second as an outsider in this last year so can’t be ruled out. |
4 |
Night Raider |
All four career wins on all-weather surfaces but that disguises strong turf sprinting efforts, including leading for most of the trip when fourth in a York G1 last month. |
5 |
Two Stars |
Has won both starts this season, a soft-ground handicap over this C&D and then a Listed event at Naas. Up in grade. One of plenty in this likely to go hard from the gate. |
6 |
Arizona Blaze |
Had no difficulty handling easier ground than he preferred when landing a G2 over this C&D in July. But well below that level, running flat when favourite for a York G1. |
7 |
Powerful Nation |
His last two starts have not offered much hope as far as winning this is concerned. Sharper when winning a Listed sprint at Cork in June. |
8 |
Whistlejacket |
Mostly seen at 1200m but earlier in his career won a soft-ground Listed sprint over this C&D. Often races prominently, not possible last time when slow from the gates. |
9 |
Asfoora |
This terrific Australian speedster bounced right back to her best with a sparkling G1 victory at York last month. Live chances if in the same shape now. |
10 |
Mgheera |
In sparkling form earlier in 2025 with her trademark late surge proving decisive in a G3 at Longchamp and G2 at Haydock. Can blow the start. Prefers good or slower ground. |
11 |
Nighteyes |
Her four career wins were over around 1200m so may lack quite enough pace for this especially as she is sometimes slow from the gates. |
12 |
She’s Quality |
Some fine performances though frustrating as a close second on four occasions this season. For whatever reason she was less good in a York G1 last time. |
13 |
Vadream |
Hard to recommend, having failed to win any of her last 21 starts. No serious impact recently. Slow ground badly needed. |
14 |
Grande Marques |
Showed lots of dash from the front – taking full advantage of her good gate – when too quick for 12 rivals in a Listed Tipperary sprint last month. Worth a crack at this. |
15 |
Lady With The Lamp |
Not beaten far in her last three starts. Dropping back to 1000m here but an unlikely winner. |
16 |
Saratoga Special |
Came from off a strong pace to win a Listed sprint at Ayr in June, a fine effort considering she was the lowest rated filly in that field. Not as good twice since. |
