1400m – Turf

1

Rahmi

He made an eye-catching return at Cork (fourth in Listed grade) in August. Could be a factor if building on that.

2

Dance Night Andday

Her form has been up and down this term although this course (two wins from three) tends to bring out the best in her. Won this in 2024.

3

Dunum

Hasn’t had a taxing season and Galway third came just five days after a prior course win at the same track. Second in this in 2023.

4

One Smack Mac

Second to a future G3 winner at Naas in May. He was gelded after his Royal Ascot effort (last) in June but by no means out of the argument.

5

Gleneagle Bay

Not unfancied at Royal Ascot in June (tenth of 27) prior to finishing a creditable second at Galway. Second in this last season. Player.

6

Hurricane Ivor

Very useful on his day but now at the veteran stage of his career. Bats off a revised lower handicap mark but does need to step up on recent form.

7

Slieve Binnian

He came unstuck (last) on yielding ground at Galway. Had won two valuable handicaps prior to that and not discounted granted better ground.

8

Blues Emperor

Sixth in this last year, he has twice finished out of numbers since Fairyhouse win in July and isn’t easy to predict.

9

Chicago Fireball

Back to ways at Gowran Park after modest run of form. Has since risen 5lb in the weights but he’s one to monitor if attracting market support.

10

Daamberdiplomat

Has done all his winning at either the Curragh (turf) or Dundalk (all-weather). Eighth in this last year but others have stronger claims.

11

Noble Truth

Hasn’t won for over three seasons since Royal Ascot G3 win in 2022, and little encouragement to be had from his recent form.

12

Tribal Nation

Flopped at odds-on when third at Killarney last time. However, some of his earlier form make for interesting reading and he looks reasonably handicapped.

13

I Am Superman

Has run some fair races in defeat this season. Has been lowered 3lb in the ratings but his task doesn’t appear straightforward.

14

Pier Pressure

Very much in the ascendancy and Gowran Park success was no less than he deserved. Remains of interest off current mark.

15

Glenfinnan

This British raider is coming off a fair fourth in competitive contest at Sandown, and he will be out to exploit a plummeting handicap mark.

16

Nakasero

Apprentice-ridden when coming good here last month. More needed but clearly going the right way.
