G1 – 1600m – Turf
| Marhaba Ya Sanafi | Without a win since a 1600m G3 strike at Chantilly in June 2024 but has suffered some narrow defeats. Won a G1 Classic over this C&D in 2023, but this still looks hard. |
| Quddwah | Though beaten on all three G1 starts he looks up to top class opportunities when the ground is suitably slow. An impressive 1600m G3 Chantilly winner on his latest start. |
| Rosallion | Plenty of dramas and injury issues this season surrounding this top class miler, who just wasn’t quite fast enough in a 1400m G1 at York in August but was energetic late on, only beaten a length. Chances. |
| Dancing Gemini | Keeps knocking on the G1 door, twice not beaten far in G1s this season, the latest being a brave attempt at Deauville when only run down late on. Can deliver his best on softer ground. |
| Go To First | Good but not top class form in Japan. Gave a solid account of himself when 3.3l fifth of ten in a Deauville 1600m G1 on his first French venture. Hard to recommend for the winner’s money. |
| Lead Artist | Although disappointing on two of his last three starts, he is a very effective 1600m horse on his day as he showed with a power-packed G1 winning performance over this trip at Newbury in May. |
| Persica | A one-time handicapper who has had no trouble rising to Group class, landing G3s at Newmarket and Epsom this season. But not at his best on his last two starts and in any case ratings make this look challenging. |
| Alcantor | Three times a G3 winner, all over this trip and on slow ground. Capable of holding his own at this higher level also, plus very effective over this C&D. |
| Sahlan | A disappointing favourite in Listed company two starts back but much better at Deauville last month when surging late to win a G3 over this trip. Not an obvious winner but worth a crack at this valuable G1. |
| The Lion In Winter | Yet to really fulfil his obvious potential and has been tried over a variety of trips to find the key. Disappointing last time when leading in a 1600m Deauville G1, then fading out. |
| Henri Matisse | A bit below his best when third in a 1600m Goodwood G1 on his last start. Encouraging that his only previous run over this C&D was a brave G1 Classic victory in May. |
| Serengeti | Surely here to inject some pace for Aidan O’Brien-trained contenders. Others are preferred. |
