G1 – 1600m – Turf

1

Riyabovka

Handicap winner over 1400m in May. Yet to win over this 1600m. Big step up in class.

2

Start Of Day

A supplementary entry. Ran well in fifth on latest start in G2 at Royal Ascot. Connections have their sights set on getting her fine-tuned for a G1 at Deauville later in the month.

3

Pinta

Lightly raced. Turns up on the back of a placed effort in Listed company over course and distance last month.

4

Spiritual

Returned after an eight-month break to fill third on fast ground in a 1400m G3, following up with success in a G3 at Epsom over 1703m.

5

Crimson Advocate

American-bred, she flew from last to first to land a G2 at Royal Ascot, before being placed at G1 level. Both those runs over 1600m on fast going.

6

Fallen Angel

Winner of last year’s G1 Irish 1000 Guineas. Performed well in defeat in three runs at the highest level since before a two-length third last time in a Royal Ascot G2.

7

Mandanaba

Leading French contender. Only beaten one length when third in G1 French 1000 Guineas (1600m). Drops back in trip after fourth in G1 French Oaks over 2100m on good to soft ground.

8

Exactly

Fourth, beaten 1.25 lengths, in G1 French 1000 Guineas, then out of luck in G1 over 1594m at Royal Ascot.

9

January

Fourth attempt to crack a G1 this season after creditable efforts in defeat at the Curragh, Royal Ascot and last time out at Newmarket. Ideally suited by this 1600m trip.

10

Atsila

Unraced as a juvenile. Failed to make an impression in G1 Irish 1000 Guineas, and only had two rivals behind her when sixth last time out at Newmarket.

11

Godspeed

Has been campaigned solely over 1600m. Smart performer. Out of luck in French 1000 Guineas. Bounced back to win a G2 at Chantilly.

12

Pina Sonata

First tilt at a G1. Made it two wins from two this season with an easy success in a lowgrade affair back in May.

13

Matilda

Handles soft ground. First run for new trainer. Her three outings this campaign for previous handler have all been in Germany. Wide margin winner of a G2 on latest start back in May.
