1700m – Turf
1 | Marmara Star | Seems to prefer soft ground and goes well for claiming riders. Good second last time after winning on 8 July. Can’t dismiss. |
2 | Blomche | Very good form last year, and good start to 2025. Too bad to be true last time but booking of Deutsches Derby winning rider Nina Baltromei (who can still claim 4lb) an obvious plus. |
3 | Bomaro | Did little wrong in 2024 including win in Class 2 handicap but paying the price for that consistency now and suspicion that too high in the weights. Very good claimer – in flying form – booked though. |
4 | Sadora | Filly in great form – two wins from only three lifetime starts. Won like a good horse last time and from a top yard. Trip should suit, ground a slight question mark. |
5 | Laxxio | Late entry but represents big yard, with top jockey booked. Good third at higher class latest, under a big weight but obvious chance. |
6 | Willy Campbell | Went down fighting in bid for four-timer at Bad-Harzburg latest. Acts on any ground, trip no problem and should be thereabouts. |
7 | Lili Marleen | Was too keen latest over trip too far; has bits of form that give her a chance. Top jockey – who has won on her before – booked. Had some stiff tasks, these are calmer waters. |
8 | Freigeist | Ground and trip no worries and drop to lower class helps too. Each-way chances with a top jockey booked. |
9 | Lion Hunter | Dutch raider whose last win on sand came over this trip. On good mark and top Dutch jockey booked. Can surprise at bigger odds. |
10 | Cahaya | Makes her handicap debut. Meets Sadora on much better terms, and while she has some lengths to make up can be fancied here. |
11 | Keano | Seems best on soft/heavy in spring and won in January on sand. On long losing run and seems out of form. At least his handicap mark is dropping. |
12 | Thekingofmyheart | Contested the Deutsches Derby in 2024 but on a long losing run. Having a third start for this stable. |
