G1 – 1800m – Turf

The Real Prince Came from off the pace to collar star three-year-old Eight On Eighteen in the G1 Durban July. This is an ideal trip and fit and well he could go in again.
Gladatorian Last run was possibly too far as he ran out of steam early in the straight. He has a strong finish and this will be a better distance but he has had a hard season.
Montien Up from the Cape specifically for this race but trainer has admitted that things have not gone as planned in his preparation. However, if he can reproduce some of his Cape form he is not without a chance.
Dave The King Last year’s winner. Forced to fight hard for victory last start. Pace may not have suited as he did not take up his usual position up front. If allowed of roll he could be difficult to peg back.
See It Again Always dangerous. Had a minor setback in training before being scratched from the G1 Durban July which is a concern. Class on his day and cannot be written off lightly.
Son Of Raj Back to best last run and has his third run after a break. Nevertheless he does look to be outclassed.
Royal Victory Seldom runs a bad race but does tend to take a while to warm up in the straight. He finished strongly behind The Real Prince last time out but the Greyville straight is a tad short for him in top company. Definite money chance.
Fire Attack Won the G1 HKJC World Pool Premier’s Champions Challenge under an enterprising front-running ride to hold off Royal Victory who loves the long Turffontein straight. He is 7lb worse off with Royal Victory but likely pace setter along with Dave The King.
Litigation Current form does not inspire any confidence. Tried to make all at his previous outing over course and distance when fourth but faces far stronger this time around.
