G1 – 1600m – Turf

1

Soldier Boy

Ran a fair race last time over 1400m and should relish the increase in trip he gets today. One to seriously consider for the back end of the quartet.

2

Count Of Rouen

Was a tad unlucky last time when finishing half way back behind Chronicle King and with a smooth, clean run in transit, can go very close to winning. He has been selected as the each way value play.

3

Jan Van Goyen

Has raced three times for two most impressive victories and rates a serious winning chance. He was narrowly beaten in the second run probably by shortage of distance as when cranked up to 1400m he won well. Today he goes 1600m which should suit even more. Big win claims.

4

Chronicle King

Won at long odds last time but won with authority. It would be foolish to discount his chances and not include him on the shortlist. A huge run can be expected and it would come as no shock if he went back-to-back.

5

Blizzard Quest

Has a few lengths to find on the last run but was a gutsy winner in his penultimate start. Include in larger betting permutations.

6

World Of Royalty

Beat Carnival Park in a maiden last time and now faces much tougher opposition which makes it tough to predict how he will go. A likely outsider that might battle against these. Prefer others.

7

Tin Pan Alley

Had it all to do from a deep draw last time but still managed to run a very good race finishing a close up third to Chronicle King. From a slightly kinder draw today, he should be very competitive. Bright chance.

8

Charming Cheetah

Ignore last run as his earlier form clearly shows that he is certainly capable of way better. He is one for the shortlist and is a must for all bets. The stable he comes from is in fine form currently.

9

Blackjack Randall

Was victorious in a weak maiden last time and will have to be at his very best to beat this bunch. He may well be up to that, but others are preferred.

10

Malmesbury Missile

Boasts strong and consistent form, simply found one better on the day last time when sent off as favorite. He can bounce right back to winning ways and has a big chance.

11

Ziyan’s Pride

Finished last after winning a weak maiden and is difficult to make a case for in this very tough and competitive Group 1 race.

12

Bruh

Is rated by his trainer, won his maiden in convincing fashion but does face a huge task today. His high draw is naturally a concern and it is difficult to predict how he will go first time in Group company. Prefer others for today.

13

Porridge Boy

Is taking time to secure his maiden win and should find it extremely tough to take on and beat these horses that have competed in and won Group or Listed races. Pass by.

14

King Harald

Will start from the deepest gate so will have to get lucky from there. His last run was encouraging and despite the draw, he has claims. Include in the quartet.
