The Stewards have approved an application submitted by Mr C Fownes, the trainer of last start winner SKY VINO, to add a Crossed Nose Band to the gear carried by that horse in the stated race.

The Stewards interviewed Mr Fownes who confirmed that Apprentice Jockey E C W Wong, who rode SKY VINO in the recent barrier trial at Sha Tin on 4 July 2025, advised the horse travelled keenly during the barrier trial. Subsequently, he applied a Crossed Nose Band to the horse in its gallop on 9 July 2025, and he has been pleased by its work with the addition of this piece of equipment as it settled better. He is of the opinion that the horse would benefit by wearing a Crossed Nose Band in its future race starts.
