The one to beat after his sparking winning performance in the Derby Stakes leading virtually throughout and looking a really professional athlete.

Lazy Griff

Two terrific performances at long odds this season, notably when second of 18 to Lambourn in the Derby Stakes. But hard to see him reversing placings this time.

Pride Of Arras

Well fancied for the Derby Stakes after putting up an excellent G2 winning performance at York. But very modest at Epsom. Plenty of possible excuses but there would need to be.

Puppet Master

In the shadow of stablemate Lambourn but a determined winner of May’s Lingfield Derby Trial, even if that form does not look Classic winning standard.

Serious Contender

Continual improvement though facing a large class leap after his strong second of 19 behind a potential Group class rival in a hot Ascot handicap. Yet more needed.

Probably the least fanciable of Aidan O’Brien’s five runners though not beaten far over a longer trip than this in a G2 at Royal Ascot this month.

Sir Dinadan

No match for a talented stablemate in Listed company at Goodwood last month. This looks too difficult.

Tennessee Stud

Could give Derby Stakes winner Lambourn a serious test here after his strong-finishing third in that Classic. Looks to be really getting his act together now.

Thrice

Will be an outsider but his tough victory (finishing second, placed first) in a 2000m G3 here last month represents a clear career-best display.
