The Hong Kong Reunification Raceday takes place at Sha Tin Racecourse next Tuesday (1 July), marking the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Racegoers will enjoy free admission to both the Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourse Public Enclosures^. Together with Hong Kong’s world-class horse racing, an array of live music and entertainment is on offer at Sha Tin, as well as culinary and shopping discounts.
Sha Tin and Happy Valley open for admission at 2pm. As part of the ‘Summer Series’ fixtures in the 2024/25 racing season, the 10-race programme on Tuesday commences at 4pm, and is headlined by the Class 2 Hong Kong Reunification Cup (1400m), as well as the Class 3 Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup (1000m).
Opening performance at the Parade Ring
The opening performance features the top three winners – Bo Huang, Vic Teo, and Liu Yang – from the TVB singing show “Midlife, Sing & Shine! 3”, showcasing their vocal talents at 2.45pm in Sha Tin’s Parade Ring.
Live music throughout Reunification Raceday
Fellow “Midlife, Sing & Shine! 3” contestants Li Jin Kai, Gary Chiu, Dan James and Yanji Chan will perform classic hits onstage underneath Mezza One in Sha Tin.
Culinary and shopping discounts
The selected Cantonese set menus at Pak Sing Restaurant in Sha Tin will be offered at a 29% discount, with online reservations available. Selected merchandise at Gift at Races in both Sha Tin and Happy Valley will see 30% discounts.
“Shatin Racecourse Delights”
Within Sha Tin Racecourse only, the first 500 participants to submit the correct answer in accordance with instructions at 7.45pm will receive a Hong Kong Jockey Club designated dining voucher valued at HK$300.
Free racecourse tours for tourists
Tourists who visit the Tourist Zone at Sha Tin on 1 July and open a betting account can enjoy a free guided tour of the racecourse and facilities at Sha Tin.
Free shuttle bus services
Free shuttle bus services will be available from Sha Tin Racecourse to designated locations in Kowloon and New Territories. The service is offered from 8pm until the last race finishes. For details, please visit event theme site.
