2400m – Turf
1 | Sir Siljan | No trip worries for this strong stayer, who formerly competed in Poland. A winner over this trip at Lyon Parilly in April. The ground was soft then, probably his ideal conditions. |
2 | Cassius | A three-times winner who is proven over this trip and further. Third in what looked like quite a strong event at Compiegne last month. |
3 | Pay To Learn | Has won three of his eight starts and those all came over this trip. Had a break after a dismal show on his final 2024 start and much better at Compiegne on his 2025 return. |
4 | Galego Star | Without a win on his last 13 starts and he seems better over an even longer trip than this so not an easy one to fancy despite a sliding handicap mark. |
5 | Zulu Warrior | Without a win in his last 11 starts but that was in Listed company at Saint-Cloud. Would probably need to bounce back to that form to win here. |
6 | Guiness Star | Supplemented for this on the back of consecutive wins in Class 2 staying handicaps. Has shot up the ratings and will need to prove himself over the shorter 2400m, but clearly in the form of his life. |
7 | Back To Black | Very useful on his day and on a hat-trick after battling success in Class 2 Handicap at ParisLongchamp. Current mark, despite 3.5 kilos rise this season, needn’t be prohibitive. |
8 | Nepalais | His form is up and down but has delivered at Marseille and Angers in his last three starts. Produced a strong burst from off the pace to win at latter venue but Chantilly record (0 from 13) to date is modest. |
9 | Have Dancer | Hasn’t built on promising start to the season on his last two starts, and front running style could make him vulnerable. |
10 | King Trezy | Was a bit unlucky on last start from his wide draw as the winner got first run on him. Very consistent and looks sure to run his usual honest race. |
11 | Gattopardo | May have raced a little too freely in cheekpieces when a beaten favourite (third) in Class 2 Handicap at ParisLongchamp. Otherwise, constantly on the premises this season and shouldn’t be far away. |
12 | Il Capo | It has been all or nothing with him this season. Back in the winning groove (11-1) for third win of the campaign at Lyon Parilly last time, but clearly this a lot tougher. |
13 | Tiger Rock | Lightly raced (just six career starts) and ran creditably when sixth in Class 2 Handicap on reappearance. Further improvement not discounted. |
14 | Mehlango | Continues on a career high mark after Saint-Cloud success at Class 2 Handicap in March. Subsequent tests have been less conclusive and may need some respite from the grader. |
15 | Roudoudou | Posted another fine effort (third) when stepped up to 3100m last time. Constantly placed at Class 2 race, he’s overdue a win and looks on a good mark. |
16 | Hatim | Reflects the progressive profile of horses from this yard. Has won his last two starts and not impossible that he could build on Toulouse reappearance win off current mark. |
