1200m – Turf
1 | Cover Up | The last of his six career wins came when quickening late on to land a 1000m Meydan Listed last December. Beaten as favourite at Musselburgh last time. Has won at this trip. |
2 | Orazio | Comprehensively beaten on his last three starts of 2024 and would need to return to the sort of form that saw him win two handicaps in 2023. Handicap mark slowly easing. |
3 | Dream Composer | Plenty of success during a busy career, almost adding to his winning tally when leading for most of the way at Pontefract. Outpaced around Chester’s tight bends last time. |
4 | Completely Random | Has won both 2025 starts, latterly when swooping from the back to easily land a 1200m handicap at Leicester in April. A 6lb rise may not prevent another big show. |
5 | Rosario | Arrives here fresh off his second career win, also posting a career-best effort that day when surging late to win over 1000m at Goodwood this month. Still looks nicely handicapped. |
6 | Elmonjed | A talented speedster whose four wins from eight career starts have all come at this trip. A very respectable fourth on his 2025 return and belongs on the shortlist for this. |
7 | Purest Time | His trainer sources many of his horses from France, and Purest Time is having his first UK run having enjoyed some success over this trip, his last victory coming at Deauville. |
8 | Indian Run | Lightly raced since his last win, a G3 in August 2023. But his close up sixth in a hot Newmarket handicap this month was quite encouraging. |
9 | Run Boy Run | Close to winning all three starts this year without quite managing it. Doing his best work in the closing stages when fourth in a 1200m Newmarket handicap this month. |
10 | Aramram | Second on all four starts this year including three narrow defeats. Latterly he led 400m out only to be headed in the last strides of a 1200m Newmarket valuable handicap. |
11 | Dorney Lake | Came late to win two handicaps over this trip in April. Couldn’t make the same impact under a stiffer mark at Ascot but did best of those challenging from off the pace. |
12 | King’s Lynn | Competing on the all-weather on his last five starts but this return to turf looks welcome as he has a better record on it including a 1000m G2 victory at Haydock back in 2022. |
