G1 – 1600m – Turf
| Checkandchallenge | Has failed to win his last eleven starts and looks to have a mountain to climb in this red-hot G1. No match for the first two when third in a Listed event at Ascot in April. |
| Dancing Gemini | Is 0-5 in G1s but he has looked much improved in 2025, winning easily first at Doncaster and then Sandown where he won a quality renewal of that 1600m G2. A live player. |
| Lead Artist | Posted some high class efforts last season, with G3 victories at Goodwood and Newmarket. But will need to be in completely different shape than when flopping at Sandown last month. |
| Notable Speech | This is usually won by a horse with proven top class 1600m credentials and that certainly includes him, winning Newmarket’s 2000 Guineas and later the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Stable in red-hot form in G1 contests. |
| Persica | Wants slow ground if he is to deliver his best and produce a shock victory in this. The ground was slow when he gained his first Group success, a G3 over 1800m at Newmarket last month. |
| Prague | A bargain buy who proved that his 40-1 victory on his career debut was no fluke with classy subsequent 2024 starts including a G2 winning strike over this distance at Newmarket. But up against it here. |
| Rosallion | Has terrific class at this trip even though it would be unusual for a horse to win a G1 after such a lengthy – 333 day – gap since his last start. That came with a powerful late surge to win Royal Ascot’s G1 St James’s Palace Stakes. |
| Fallen Angel | May be a candidate to lead early, and those tactics succeeded in this race last year. Had led almost throughout when winning a G1 Classic at the Curragh last May. A good or slower surface would help. |
| Tamfana | A G1 winner over this trip at Newmarket last year, she ran an excellent second to Dancing Gemini in a G2 at Sandown last month when the winner had a race-fitness edge plus Tamfana is 5lb better at the weights. Chance. |
