Argent

Started over Tokyo dirt 1600m, broke late and ran on heavy ground. Then moved to local-circuit racing (NAR), aced two starts and returned to JRA. Still much of an unknown. Has potential but has not raced since mid-November.

Ask Movie On

5-16-5 in last three starts at this level, all at different distances, most recent over Tokyo 1600m. Lacks speed. May not be competitive here.

Booyaka

Racing steadily without a spell since last fall. Four starts this year all off board. Weight dropping over last two outings. Not looking promising.

Break The Ice

Has been stuck at this level for 17 starts (mostly over 1700m-1800m) with only two finishes in the money. Drop in distance likely not a plus but turn of foot is not bad. Still, not promising.

Gaura Spark

Since winning debut, best results have been a seventh in seven starts ranging from 1400m to 2600m. Speed lacking. Likely not competitive here.

Hiro Piana

Has been shuffled over distances and between surfaces with no success. Other than two starts on NAR tracks, has yet to make the board. Outclassed.

Luminous Flux

Double-digit finishes in four starts since last April. Not competitive here.

Luxe Steel

Looks to have slipped into a slump in the seven starts since last year. Weight tends to fluctuate greatly, likely tying in to lack of success.

Marine Bunker

Switched to dirt with most recent starts finishing in the money. Tends to race from off the pace and over 1800m. Shorter distance this time likely not a plus but has 9-4 over Tokyo turf 1600m. Likely competitive amid this field.

Petit Beurre

Talented Miho-based filly is versatile, with late speed and no finishes off the board from six starts. Tends to be slow away but has two seconds over Tokyo 1600m. Promising. 

Rhein Goodman

Surprised as longshot to finish third over Tokyo 1600m two weeks ago. Had usually raced at shorter distances, but more ground and somewhat heavy track may have been factors. Had a fourth over same early in career. Could do well.

Trajectoire

Moved to dirt for first time last race and took to it well with fourth-place finish over the Tokyo 1600m. Speed likely competitive here. Travels from off pace but has good late kick. Promising.
