2000m – Turf
Avenir De Briller | His runner-up effort two starts back over this course and distance showed his true ability, The extra furlong from last start should work in his favor, and if the track comes up a bit slower, his chances will improve. |
Colombe D’Or | Has not tasted any success since 2020. Had two-digit finishes in four starts last season. First run since September 2024. Tough task. |
Meiner Turpan | The half-brother to the 2021 Japanese Oaks champion Uberleben. His fifth-place finish over this course and distance in February could be worth a look. Has a decent turn of foot. If the track turns up testing, he may be capable of improvement. |
Pinky Promise | Secured second over 2000 meters at Niigata last summer on slightly yielding ground, suggesting he can handle a bit of cut in the track. The smaller field this time should allow him to secure a good position early, which works in his favor. His condition has improved with the rise in temperature, and in this field, he shouldn’t be overlooked. |
Simhanada | Debuted in summer of his 3-year-old season but quickly won two in a row to reach this class. He possesses a strong turn of foot but his most recent run at Nakayama can be excused, as he had nowhere to go in the stretch. With only five starts under his belt, he still has room to improve and looks capable of competing at a higher level. |
