1200m – Turf
1 |
Uncle Don |
A 1000m maiden winner last year and, although only seventh in a stronger event over this trip at Redcar on his final start, he had an unfavourable gate that day. |
2 |
Milford |
Did best on his final 2024 start, raised into Listed company at York, dead-heating for third. Has moved stables since and ultimately will probably want further than this trip. |
3 |
Invictus Gold |
Progressive at two and gave the impression that he was going to be smart at three also judging by his close third of ten here last month. But hopefully will race less keenly here. |
4 |
Principality |
Has been gelded and changed stable since last seen when disappointing in a G3 at Kempton. Last June he had surged late to win a 1200m novices’ event at Goodwood. |
5 |
So Darn Hot |
He has won three of his eight starts and like his sire possesses a fighting spirit. Well beaten at Newcastle last month but that was a hot event plus he met with major traffic problems. |
6 |
Stormy Impact |
Showed plenty of talent – and consistency – in 2024, bagging her first success narrowly when a hot favourite on her final start. Back up to 1200m which looks more suitable. |
7 |
The Dragon King |
Some very speedy performances last season and proved himself over this course and distance on his final start, slow from the gates but well on top at the end. Gelded since. |
8 |
Dark Cloud Rising |
Gelded, he returned an improved performer as he showed with an easy front-running victory over 1200m at Pontefract last month. Elevated 7lb for that success. |
9 |
Carbine Harvester |
Has won twice from four starts on the all-weather this year, latterly leading throughout at Kempton. No reason according to pedigree whilst he should not also shine on turf. |
10 |
Toomuchforme |
Bypassed a Listed event this week to run in this handicap. Her last three runs at two were all good efforts. Effective at this trip but may excel over further. |
11 |
Hoodie Hoo |
A candidate to push the pace having led in both 2025 starts, winning at Wolverhampton and second at Kempton. Bred for turf and another to consider in this open affair. |
12 |
American Style |
Started 2025 off in the best possible style with a front-running victory over this trip at Ripon, showing courage to hold on that day. Wind surgery seems to have helped him. |
