1800m – Turf

1

Arabian Light

This lightly-raced three-times winner was last seen when recovering from a slow start to land an 1800m handicap at Meydan. Opportunities to enhance his reputation here.

2

Sean

Best recent effort came when a strong-finishing second in an 1800m Meydan handicap after having to delay his challenge. Seems genuine but finding it hard to win a race.

3

Hand Of God

Stable in good form, and chances here if he is at the top of his game 315 days after delivering a powerful late challenge to win a Royal Ascot handicap. Gelded since then.

4

Galeron

Spent last year in Australia and now back with his former trainer. Doing best in the closing stages when a close fifth of 22 in a hot Doncaster handicap in March.

5

Bopedro

A hardened veteran who remains on a challenging handicap mark especially considering that he is without a win in his last 18 starts. Finished eighth in this last year.

6

Silver Sword

Quickened nicely on fast ground to win a 1600m Meydan handicap in March. Never really looked like following up at Newbury last month though not disgraced in sixth.

7

Approval

Has tried front-running tactics but, ridden patiently, he delivered a sustained challenge to win a classy handicap at Goodwood last August. A major contender on that evidence.

8

Fox Legacy

First start for this stable and since being gelded. Landed a Salisbury handicap by a runaway 12L last August where the fast ground looked to suit him ideally.

9

Born Ruler

Has won over shorter than this but competing consistently well over longer on his last nine starts. Usual tactics are to be held up for a late surge.

10

Metallo

Not been showing much lately so blinkers have been added. Perhaps Silvestre de Sousa will also make a difference, riding him for the first time.

11

Dutch Decoy

This veteran has won nine of his 71 starts but, despite some solid placed efforts is now without a win in his last 18 races. May again give way to younger rivals.

12

Desperate Dan

Only previous Newmarket run was a third in a 1600m handicap here last September, winning easily at Nottingham subsequently. Those good efforts came on slow ground.

13

Urban Sprawl

Quite a consistent type but his handicap mark remains challenging. Not beaten far under top weight in a handicap at Ripon last time. This six-times winner handles any ground.
