Some excellent runs since adding headgear last May, including three Class 2 handicap victories. An impressive front-runner whose third in a G3 over this course and distance in April was another terrific effort.

Purosangue

Didn’t really build on an exciting 2yo career last season. Gelded since then, and though tiring late on at Southwell on his 2025 return, that still counts as an encouraging effort.

Woodhay Wonder

Will be well respected as she is a real specialist over this course and distance, racing prominently, sometimes leading and still strong at the finish. Another good show under top weight in a handicap here last month.

Indian Run

Looks to have a tough task despite a shrinking handicap mark. Largely disappointing since an impressive 2yo career and never threatened here last month.

Orne

From a top stable but finding it hard to win, though his last victory came over this track (1400m) back in late 2023. His handicap mark still looks testing.

Inishfallen

Has failed to live up to some early career potential leading to him being gelded last year. Led before his stamina ran out over further than this at Newbury last month.

Run Boy Run

Scored 4 winners during a busy 2024 year. Two narrow defeats in 1200m handicaps at Newcastle this year suggest that he should be winning again soon.

More Thunder

Lightly raced but very smart and likely to start favourite for this after surging late and drawing clear over this course and distance last month – a definite career best. A rising handicap mark may not stop him.

Aramram

Delivering consistently good efforts in 2025 most notably when only finding More Thunder too strong over this course and distance last month. Another good show anticipated.

Silky Wilkie

Won plenty of races earlier in his career but has now failed to land any of his last 29 starts. A well beaten favourite last time, and a shrinking handicap mark may not be enough.

Two Tribes

Proving hard to win with, his last success coming in August 2023. But finished close up in some hot handicaps – including here – and has also done well when returning from an absence.

Stanage

All nine career starts – including two wins – have all come over further. It was a fine effort when third over 1400m here last month considering he had a difficult trip.

This 86-raced, twelve-times winning veteran will be ridden by this up-and-coming apprentice for the first time. On a losing streak but running decently with an easing handicap mark.
