Sha Tin Racecourse is set to play host to an extraordinary day of international horse racing at the highly anticipated 2025 FWD Champions Day (Photo 1) on Sunday (27 April), under the theme ‘Where Champions Triumph’. This premier event promises to captivate audiences worldwide, uniting racing enthusiasts and tourists for an unforgettable afternoon featuring three Group 1 races worth a total HK$74 million.

Horses from six racing jurisdictions around the world will compete for glory. International racing fans can follow the excitement through live broadcasts in not fewer than 30 countries and regions, bringing the essence of Hong Kong’s premier spring racing event to audiences worldwide.

K-pop sensation MINNIE of (G)I-DLE (Photo 2) and pop diva Joey Yung (Photo 3) will grace the event as opening performers to kickstart the day. Entrants will be offered a designated overseas travel package as the top prize at the day’s lucky draw.
 
The racing highlights are the HK$22 million G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m), HK$24 million G1 FWD Champions Mile (1600m) and HK$28 million G1 FWD QEII Cup (2000m). Horses from Hong Kong, China face competitors from Australia, Bahrain, France, Japan and New Zealand at FWD Champions Day.

In addition to enjoying the world-class racing action, FWD Champions Day offers a range of vibrant activities to make for a day of fun at Sha Tin or Happy Valley.

K-pop idol MINNIE of (G)I-DLE and pop diva Joey Yung are guest stars at Sha Tin’s Parade Ring with a live performance at 11.15am, promising an exciting selection of hit songs.

Free FWD Champions Day Key Chain upon admission and Lucky Draw*
Racegoers will receive a designated FWD Champions Day Key Chain (Photo 4) on admission to either racecourse (Sha Tin and Happy Valley) before 3.30pm, while stocks last. Entrants to Sha Tin Racecourse can also scan the QR code on the admission gift before 3.30pm to register for a lucky draw for a chance to win a designated experience journey at Tokyo Racecourse, Japan, including round-trip air fare and four-day, three-night hotel accommodation for two adults (Quota: two sets). 

Live music entertainment
Local band Pandora (Photo 5) will perform between races underneath Mezza One at Public Enclosure, 1/F, Grandstand II, Sha Tin Racecourse.

Tourists Privileges
Visitors to Hong Kong, upon showing a valid travel document, can enter the Public Enclosure (excluding fee-charging venues) at Sha Tin.

Join fun game to win exquisite prizes
Racegoers may take on the “Every Champion Counts Challenge” at the area underneath the Racing Event Zone in Public Enclosure for a chance to win a designated FWD Champions Day themed merchandise set signed by K-pop idol MINNIE of (G)I-DLE and pop diva Joey Yung (Quota: 10 pieces).

Don’t miss the chance to witness this annual premier international racing event featuring unmatched off-track entertainment. Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses commences at 10.45am with the first race scheduled for 12.45pm.
