| 2 | Fearless | Has won only one of nine starts but finished third in a G1 over 1600m as a two-year-old last season. Has struggled to show best form since but has recently won two trials in between finishing sixth of 15 in Listed 1200m. Chance at his best. |
| 3 | Yoshinobu | Failed to finish off at latest run in Listed 1200m at Rosehill for 8.71L 10th. Is now third-up for a spell and looking to repeat the form when he won two in a row last campaign. Rise to 1400m assists. |
| 4 | Sergeant Major | Has only one win from eight starts but has to be considered on recent form, including third in a G3 1200m race at Caulfield on 22 February followed by fourth in a Listed 1200m race at Rosehill on 22 March. |
| 5 | Nostringsattached | In wonderful form with three wins in a row, including strong-finishing victory at Pakenham over 1400m on 27 February. Sharpened up nicely for this with a 1200m jump out win over G1-winner Another Wil on 24 March. |
| 6 | Pleasure Artist | Sole win to date came over 1400m at Kembla Grange, but has performed creditably in higher grades since including second in a Listed race over 1600m at Randwick on 5 October. Ran on fairly when resuming when ninth over 1400m on 20 March. |
| 7 | Canara | Has won only once from 14 starts, but has raced in higher grade than this and has returned this preparation in good form with two good second placings. Always thereabouts. |
| 8 | Alabama State | Winner of three races from 12 starts over distances over 1100m and 1400m. Effective on good going but needs to improve on last-start eighth in Listed race over 1200m. |
| 9 | Mawjood | Reliable gelding who handles all types of going. Has two wins and four placings from 10 starts, including last-start second over 1400m at Warwick Farm on 2 April. One of the chances. |
| 10 | Interjection | Winner of two races on the provincial circuit up to 1500m and has proved competitive in metro grade without winning. Rarely far away, place hope again. |
| 11 | Meridiana | Comfortable winner of only start over 1400m at Kensington on 13 March. Finished second in 1000m trial at Rosehill on 4 April. Cannot be left out based on only race start. |
| 12 | Duck Egg Blue | Consistent performer who has won twice on the provincial circuit. Ran on strongly over 1400m last start at Kensington on 26 March giving the impression she will be suited under these conditions. |
