The Stewards have interviewed Mr W Y So, the trainer of MOUNT EVEREST, regarding his application to add a tongue tie to the gear to be worn by that horse in the stated race.  MOUNT EVEREST was successful in its previous race start over the course and distance when wearing a ring bit only.

Mr So explained that after MOUNT EVEREST’s barrier trial on 25 March 2025, it was reported to him that the horse was making a respiratory noise during the trial.  A subsequent endoscopic examination performed on MOUNT EVEREST after the barrier trial, at the request of Mr So, did not reveal any abnormal finding.

The Stewards have acceded to the application from Mr So to add a tongue tie to the horse’s gear for the stated race, having regard to the advice from Mr So that the horse appeared to have benefited from the addition of a tongue tie when it galloped on 31 March 2025.
