G1 – 2000m – Turf
| Light Infantry Man | Is racing in the best form of his career. Three starts ago he won the G1 Northerly Stakes (1800m) at Ascot. At his last start he finished 1.31L 3rd to Tom Kitten in the G1 All-Star Mile (1600m) at Flemington. Chance at odds. |
| Attrition | Under-rated galloper who has been set for this. At his last start he finished 2nd in the G2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington, beaten 2L by Marble Arch. This is harder. Place claims. |
| Young Werther | Can bob up in this class at this track. He has three G1 placings at track and distance. He finished 7th in this race last year. Was first-up 3.03L 7th to Middle Earth, at Flemington (2000m) on 8 March. |
| Middle Earth | Lightly-raced former English galloper who was a G2 3rd at Royal Ascot last year. He surged home to win his Australian debut at Flemington over this distance on 8 March defeating Duke De Sessa. Big watch. |
| Shaiyhar | Loves this track and distance with four starts for three wins and a last start 0.76L 3rd to Middle Earth. He’s unproven at this level though and will need luck. |
| Pride Of Jenni | Australia’s reigning Horse Of The Year who returned to her best form with a first-up win in the G2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on 15 March. Front-runner who finished 2nd in this race last year. Go close. |
| Atishu | She loves this track and distance. Is a G1 winner at the track and distance and also has finished second and third at that level. At her last start she finished 3.41L 5th to Tom Kitten in the G1 All-Star Mile (1600m) at Flemington on 8 March. She’s ready to run a big race. |
| Zardozi | Classy filly who races well at Flemington. Finished on strongly for 2.35L 3rd to Marble Arch, here over 1600m on 1 March two starts ago. Then was 2.75L 2nd to Pride Of Jenni in a G2 (1800m) at Caulfield on 15 March. Take beating. |
| Deny Knowledge | Resumed from a spell with an all the way win in the Listed Victoria Gold Cup (2000m) at Caulfield where she defeated Bankers Choice by 0.75L. G1 winner last spring over 2000m at Caulfield. Will be in it for a long way. |
| Feroce | Classy 3-year-old gelding who took out the G1 Australian Guineas (1600m) against his own age on 1 March. Takes on the older horses but he should relish the 2000m. Go close. |
