G1 – 2450m – Turf
1 |
Parisian Walkway |
Showed guts to win the Grade 2 Gauteng Guineas but then faded in the final stages of the Grade 1 Classic over 1800m last time, so there’s a question mark behind his ability to stay the distance. |
2 |
Legend Of Arthur |
Came from the back of the field in the Classic to grab third spot, recording the fastest time over the last 400m. Should do much better over this trip. Big runner. |
3 |
Grey Jet |
Stayed on well in the Classic and could have more to offer over the extended trip. His Classic run came after a rest and fitter now he could be the dark horse to cause a major upset. |
4 |
Bacchus |
Not at the top of his game at the moment he will have to make drastic improvement to feature here. Disappointed in both the Guineas and Classic. |
5 |
Don’t Cry For Me |
Was sliding down the ratings until his penultimate when he produced a whopper over 1800m. However, his failure to show up for the Classic is a cloud over his head. |
6 |
Wild Intent |
Finished a head behind the favourite, Immediate Edge, over 2000m last time when possibly suffering from travel fatigue and is now 6lb better off. Expect a huge effort. |
7 |
Immediate Edge |
Deserves favouritism as he is unbeaten, with two victories coming over 2000m. However, he is untested at this level. |
8 |
Towers Of Gold |
Has won over 2000m, but that was in a Class D event. Lost the plot completely last time out. Difficult to make a case for this runner. |
9 |
Zip Code |
He has never travelled beyond 1600m with his solitary win coming over 1400m 315 days ago. Has done nothing to suggest he can feature here. |
10 |
Solar Sail |
Sailed home without breaking a sweat last time when trying 2000m. Faces a lot stiffer competition here but could surprise and find a place. |
11 |
Casus Belli |
Shed his maiden over 2000m, but in two post-maiden runs over the same trip has not done anything to suggest he can threaten at this level. |
12 |
Count Huhtikuu |
Could be anything. Took four attempts to get on the scoresheet, travelling further each time and progressing steadily. Jumps from maiden class to Grade 1. |
13 |
Olivia’s Way |
The only filly in the race is bound to love the distance. Second in the Fillies Classic, she was the second fastest finisher, so there’s no denying her staying power. |
