G1 - 1100m - Turf

1

I Am Me

Brilliant sprinting mare who has won four of six first-up. She’s won 4 Group races and she’s been placed 3 times in Group 1 races. Her trainer Ciaron Maher has her ready for a big first-up run.

2

Estriella

Flying mare who has had 2 starts at Caulfield for 2 wins including the G2 Caulfield Sprint (1000m) last spring. She resumes from a spell after finishing 3.77L 9th in the G1 Darley Champions Sprint (1200m) last November.

3

Golden Boom

Speedy Brisbane sprinter who is in form. He’s won two of his last three including the Listed Goldmarket (1100m) at the Gold Coast at his last start. Last spring he finished second in the Listed Carlyon Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley to Mornington Glory so he has the right formlines.

4

Ostraka

Smart Sydney sprinter who won 4 races in a row last year including the G3 Silver Eagle (1300m) at Randwick. He hasn’t started since a 5.1L 13th in the Golden Eagle. Creates interest.

5

Rey Magnerio

Consistent sprinter who never runs a bad race. He resumed from a spell with a win in the G2 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield where he sat off the speed and proved too good. Leading chance.

6

Insurrection

Talented Sydney sprinter who was just beaten in a photo at his Caulfield debut by Rey Magnerio in the G2 Rubiton Stakes over this distance when he tried to lead throughout. Take catching.

7

Jimmysstar

Stormed home to defeat two of his rivals in this, Ashford Street and Rey Magnerio, at the track and distance last September. He’ll love the fast speed and he’s been trialling well. Go close.

8

Brudenell

Withdrawn

9

Hard To Say

Useful New South Wales sprinter who has a lot of speed. Last start 1.35L 5th G3 1200m Rosehill when he tried to lead throughout. Place claims.

10

Sghirripa

Brilliant South Australian sprinter who finished 2.2 lengths 7th in last year’s Oakleigh Plate behind his stablemate. He’s a winner at this track and distance. Look for a big first-up effort.

11

Ashford Street

His in-form trainer Tom Dabernig targeted this race after his win in the Listed Christmas Stakes this track and distance on Boxing Day. Veteran who races best fresh and could surprise.

12

Headwall

Capable Sydney sprinter who rounded off his spring preparation last year with consecutive wins with his last victory in the G3 Warra Stakes at Kembla Grange over 1000m where he flew home. Chance at big odds.

13

Prairie Flower

Former Victorian mare whose form has surged since moving to her new Adelaide trainers. She put together two successive wins at home including one at stakes level before she finished off well for 1.35L 3rd Rey Magnerio over 1100m. That’s the right form to be competitive again.

14

Sans Doute

Gifted mare who didn’t have a lot of luck last spring. She races best fresh and has been set for this race by her trainer Mark Walker. She’s been trialling well. She gets back but she will be storming home.

15

She’s Bulletproof

Emerging star sprinting mare. She drops around 8lbs on her win in the G3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) against her own sex at Sandown on 1 February. This is her toughest test but she should be in the finish.

16

Arabian Summer

Top class 3yo filly who is in great form. Tough win over 1100m at her last start to win the G3 Peter Le Grand Stakes here which took her record to five wins from nine starts. She drops around 16lbs on that last win. Leading chance.

17

Espionage

One of the top 2-year-olds from last year who hasn’t started since winning the G3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Randwick on 6 April 2024. He’s been trialling well and 3-year-olds have a great record in this race.
