G1 – 1200m – Turf

1

Field Of Play

Strong colt who has won both of his starts with authority. He raced on the speed and proved too good in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on 8 February. He defeated Devil Night by 0.46L. Expect a great run from barrier 5. Hard to beat.

2

Tycoon Star

Talented colt who the Hayes brothers have trained to peak in this race. He showed talent during the spring with a G3 win. He resumed from a spell with a fast finishing 2.52L 4th to Field Of Play in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m). He’s drawn out but he will swoop home late.

3

Extractor

Sydney trained colt who has shown ability, running on for third at his two starts over shorter trips. At his last start he finished 1.9L 3rd to Bellazaine, in the Listed Lonhro Plate, 1000m, Randwick, 8 February.

4

Tentyris

He’s backing up a week after dead heating to win at Flemington in the Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) with Shining Smile. He’s on the up and has claims.

5

Devil Night

He’s bound to have made improvement from his excellent debut effort when he finished 0.46L 2nd behind Field Of Play in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m). That’s the right form and he looks a value runner.

6

Autumn Mystery

Flew home from a last in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) to finish 3.92L 6th behind Field Of Play. He was held up in the straight and should have finished closer. Extra 100m is ideal. He’s ready to run a big race at big odds.

7

Olatunde

Unplaced in his two starts but wasn’t disgraced when he finished 4.17L 7th behind Field Of Play in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) as he had to go back after being trapped wide early. His best work was at the finish of the race. Place chance.

8

The Playwright

Flying Sydney filly who has great speed. She’s won two from four and last start led all the way to win the G3 Widden Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on 1 February.  Is following the path set by last year’s runner-up Lady Of Camelot, who is from the same stable.

9

Palm Angel

Smart filly who has had two starts at Caulfield for two impressive on speed wins. At her last start she won the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for fillies by a length over My Gladiola. Hard to beat.

10

Icarian Dream

Withdrawn

11

My Gladiola

Won G3 Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) at Sandown in brilliant style before she finished second in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m, fillies) beaten a length by Palm Angel. She led that day, which wasn’t the place to be and fought on strongly. Go close.

12

Miss Celine

She won her debut at Caulfield when she swooped home from last to win the Listed Debutant Stakes (1000m) on 16 October. Her two lead-in runs have been sound with fourths in the Blue Diamond Preview and Prelude. She ran on well at her last start for a 2.5L fourth behind Palm Angel.

13

Wiltshire Square

Form is sound with three starts for a second and two thirds. At her last start she finished 1.75 lengths 3rd behind Palm Angel in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (fillies, 1100m) at Caulfield. Extra 100m should suit.

14

Cherish Me

Couldn’t have been more impressive winning her debut in the Geelong Diamond (1100m) in January where she sat mid-field before sprinting home powerfully. She defeated subsequent Flemington winner Cavalry Girl. She won a recent trial impressively. Big chance.

15

Tempted

She’s shown above average talent in her two starts. She won on debut at Warwick Farm over 1000m and then she flew home for 0.1L 2nd to The Playwright in the G3 Widden Stakes (1100m), Rosehill. One of the chances.

16

Eden Rose

Although she has been unplaced in three starts, they have all been sound. This is harder than last start 1.02L 5th to Tom in a 1200m maiden at Sandown.
