The Hong Kong Jockey Club is excited four-time LONGINES World’s Best Jockey Ryan Moore is partnered with World Pool as an ambassador for their 2025 schedule of fixtures.

World Pool, the globe’s largest commingled horse racing pools, is powered by The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and will work with Ryan Moore to provide insight and regular blogs ahead of World Pool race days, as well featuring in advertising and marketing campaigns.

One of world racing’s greatest jockeys, Moore is stable rider to Aidan O’Brien. The 41-year-old has ridden Group 1 winners in many of horse racing’s preeminent jurisdictions – Hong Kong, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, France, Australia, Dubai, Germany and the United States of America, among others.

Moore, a three-time British Champion Jockey (2006, 2008 & 2009), said: “World Pool has been such an important addition to the entire racing industry over the past few years and I’m delighted to be an ambassador for the brand.

“The Hong Kong Jockey Club should be congratulated for all the effort and investment they’ve put into it. I’ve always said that Hong Kong is the blueprint for the way horse racing should be run, and World Pool is helping to amplify the very best racing on a global stage. Revered by fans internationally, the polished Moore captured the 2018 BMW Hong Kong Derby (2000m) with Ping Hai Star, and is the winner of eight features at the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races and 17 British Classic races.

Moore’s World Pool appointment comes ahead of an action-packed period with Futurity Stakes Day, Saudi Cup Day and Hong Kong’s Group 1 double-header this weekend (Saturday, 22 February & Sunday, 23 February) operating under the World Pool banner.

Staged at Caulfield on Saturday, the G1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) is one of Australia’s oldest races, featuring an honour roll headlined by turf legend Phar Lap (1931).

Action then heads to Saudi Arabia in the Middle East on Saturday night for the world’s richest race – the US$20m (approx. HK$155.69 million) G1 Saudi Cup (1800m, dirt) – featuring global champion Romantic Warrior as he makes an historic first start on dirt.

Sunday then sees Sha Tin’s 1200m course record holder (1m 07.20s) Ka Ying Rising seek a third straight top-level win in the HK$13 million G1 Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup (1400m) – the second leg of the three-race HK$5 million Hong Kong Speed Series.

Winner of the HK$13 million G1 Stewards’ Cup (1600m) last month, Voyage Bubble contests the second leg of Hong Kong’s Triple Crown – HK$13 million G1 Citi Hong Kong Gold Cup (2000m) on Sunday – aiming to keep his dream alive of becoming the city’s second Triple Crown winner in history after immortal River Verdon (1993/94). 

The HK$13 million G1 Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup (2400m) concludes Hong Kong’s Triple Crown, and is a World Pool programme, as well as March’s schedule: New Zealand Derby Day (8 March), Canterbury Stakes Day (8 March), Newmarket Handicap Day (8 March), Tancred Stakes Day (29 March), Australian Cup Day (29 March) and South Africa Derby Day (29 March).
