Hong Kong Jockey Club buys two at Arqana October Yearling Sale

24/10/2024 12:06

The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased a pair of eye-catching colts from ‘Part 1’ (Tuesday, 22 October) of the recent Arqana October Yearling Sale 2024 in Deauville, France for a total outlay of €550,000 (approx. HK$4.77 million).

The Club’s highest-priced purchase of the duo was Lot 52 for €400,000, a striking bay son of Wootton Bassett, sire of Group 1 winners across Great Britain, Europe and the United States of America. The sire’s notable progeny in Hong Kong is the two-time winning Atomic Beauty and 2025 Four-Year-Old Classic Series hope Stunning Peach.

Lot 23 was the first to fall the Club’s way for €150,000, a colt by Romanised. The chestnut is a half-brother to the Group 1-winning Metropolitan – a high quality three-year-old in France, who has three wins from seven starts overall.
