G1 – 2800m – Turf
| Al Qareem | Had a good spell late last year including a G3 win at Ascot. Some good placed efforts this year, but it would surely be a surprise if he won this. |
| Crypto Force | Fourth in G3 company over shorter trips than this on his last two starts. Very likely to find some top class stayers too strong in the straight. |
| Giavellotto | Has speed as well as stamina, dropping to 2400m when accelerating past rivals to win a Newmarket G2. Before that he had won a York G2 over this trip. |
| Kyprios | The outstanding European stayer who has won many accolades for courage as well as brilliance. Won all 4 starts this year. A rare setback when second in this – which he had won in 2022 – last year. Big chance. |
| Vauban | This high class and versatile stayer – with Melbourne Cup ambitions – proved his toughness again last month when powerful in the long York straight to win a G2. |
| Waldadler | Showed his appreciation for this trip when landing a Listed prize at Hoppegarten in April. But looks outclassed against top stayers here. |
| Nastaria | Consistent and with a fine win and place strike-rate in German staying races, gaining another Listed prize – at this trip – last month. This is a much bigger challenge. |
| The Euphrates | An uncomplicated colt and it is possible that this step up in trip will bring some further progress, though it would need to. Likely to lead or sit close to the speed. |
