Charyn

Some good efforts without a win in 2023 but has progressed into a totally different proposition in 2024 with some fantastic performances latterly twice demolishing his opposition in 1600m G1s at Ascot and Deauville, each time racing prominently before pouncing to leave high class rivals gasping each time. Clear winning chances.

Tribalist

The drop to 1200m proved disastrous last time, but his record over this trip is formidable including front-running victories in a G3 and a G2 at Saint-Cloud earlier this year. His eight career wins have all come on a slow racing surface.

Caramelito

Whilst he now needs to prove himself at the top level, not only has he now really come into his own as a 5yo, but also his record at ParisLongchamp – especially over 1600m – is a formidable one. Plus, this former handicapper gained his first G3 success when leading – and then bravely rallying – at Chantilly in July, his latest start.

Kelina

Couldn’t make a serious impact from the back in this last year, a race favoured by those racing up with the speed. Bounced back to win a 1400m G1 here last October but will need to deliver plenty more on the basis of her two 2024 starts.

Ramadan

Led almost throughout to win a slow-ground G3 over this course and distance back in April. Bounced back from a modest show in the French Derby to respond to strong pressure and assert late on in a 1600m Deauville G3 last month. Likely to be at his strongest late on in this famous 1600m G1.

Notable Speech

Maintained his unbeaten record with a Classic victory in a 1600m G1 at Newmarket in May. A dismal run as favourite at Royal Ascot followed but that was forgotten when he found some memorable acceleration to easily win a fast-ground 1600m G1 at Goodwood in July. Slow ground might be an issue, otherwise this classy 3yo colt is a very serious contender.

Henry Longfellow

A G1 winner at two, and only just failed to bag another one – on fast ground over this trip – at Royal Ascot. However, he was 3.3L fourth to rival here Notable Speech at Goodwood in late July. Ryan Moore said Henry Longfellow was never comfortable on that track, but the deficit will still be hard to reverse.
