1400m – Turf

1

Age Of Gold

Slowly away but ultimately an impressive winner on his debut. Up to this trip for a Listed event at Royal Ascot but lost his place at half-way and could not get back into contention. Can do much better.

2

Spell Master

From a stable with an excellent record in this. On his third and latest start he finished strongly to force a dead heat in a 1400m maiden at Goodwood this month.

3

Dividend

The 50-1 winner of a 1400m maiden at Sandown in June. He didn’t build on that in Ascot Listed company subsequently but should be more at home in this handicap.

4

Original Outlaw

Showed promise in maiden and novice company including at this trip and looked sure to win a fast-ground handicap at Goodwood this month after shooting clear, only to be grabbed late on.

5

Hot Property

Looks strong on stamina – and courage – having battled hard before drawing clear of his rivals in a maiden over this trip at Catterick this month. Fast ground looked to suit him then.

6

Griselda

Yet to tackle 1400m but has already won three 1200m handicaps. However, she struggled last time and her handicap mark seems tough with less exposed types looking preferred.

7

Seagolazo

Though being pushed and squeezed by his jockey for much of the way, he responded well to win a maiden at Chester over this trip last month. Now moves into handicap grade.

8

Angel Hunter

Ryan Moore takes over on this colt who has shown flair in novice and maiden company, latterly when a close third over 1200m at Haydock, giving the impression that a return to 1400m would help.

9

King Of Angels

Quickened away from his ten rivals over this trip at Doncaster in July but, though leading for some of the way, faded out on his handicap debut at Goodwood last time.

10

Cyclonite

So far he has looked better on the all-weather than turf, and he was the winner of a 1200m Newcastle handicap on his latest start. Needs to prove himself on grass now.

11

Shazani

Won a Hamilton maiden on his third start but less good in two handicaps since. Up to 1400m and with Silvestre de Sousa taking over in the saddle.

12

Jayvee

Looked comfortable on slow ground when winning at Beverley on her debut. Hasn’t been fast enough in two stronger races since but this move up to 1400m may help.

13

Art Market

From a top stable, he has kept finding more when put under pressure as he showed with his narrow handicap victories at Ascot and Yarmouth. A 3lb higher mark may not stop his progress.

14

Qaseem

Finished strongly to lead in the last stride of a 1200m Haydock handicap this month. Has a 4lb rise to contend with but probably more relevant is how he copes with this rise to 1400m.

15

Dukes Of Haather

Strong at the finish when landing a handicap over this trip at Chester last month. Couldn’t build on that on faster ground and off a 6lb higher mark at Goodwood.

16

Miss Hathaway

Hasn’t managed a win but plenty of worthy placed efforts in maiden and novice company. Pedigree gives hopes of improvement now up to 1400m.

17

Tuscan Point

Best run came on his latest start when second in a handicap over this trip at Chester, and would have finished closer to the winner granted a better passage.
