Simulcast and betting arrangements for Grosser Preis von Berlin Day and Prix Jacques le Marois Day World Pool on offer for Grosser Preis von Berlin Day

09/08/2024 19:31

HKJC Horse Race Betting Limited will simulcast a total of 12 overseas races in Hong Kong on 11 August, including four races of Grosser Preis von Berlin Day from Hoppegarten Racecourse in Germany and eight races of Prix Jacques le Marois Day from Deauville Racecourse in France. Bets will be accepted* for these races. Double Trio and Double will be also offered. A jackpot of $131,136 is carried forward to Prix Jacques le Marois Day’s first Double Trio pool.

World Pool will be offered for Grosser Preis von Berlin Day (Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place, Forecast and Tierce) to ensure maximum liquidity for racegoers. Under World Pool branding as one of the betting partners of Grosser Preis von Berlin Day, the HKJC has naming rights for one race of the meeting, namely HKJC World Pool Handicap (S1-3).

For Prix Jacques le Marois Day, Win and Place bets will be outbound commingled with the respective pools operated by Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) of France △, in accordance with the modified horse race betting rules of PMU. Quinella, Quinella Place and other exotic bet pools will still be operated under Hong Kong separate pools. If the bets on outbound commingling pools cannot be included in the PMU pools, the dividends will then be calculated based on the Hong Kong pool only and in accordance with PMU’s calculation formula.

Betting on outbound commingled pools is similar to the way of betting on Hong Kong pools. The odds are calculated according to PMU’s method, that is, the investment is deducted prior to the division of the dividend pool (Photo 1). The odds displayed will change to show the odds of the PMU pools when the Hong Kong investment of the current race has been outbound commingled with PMU, and after the dividends of the preceding race have been confirmed.  The Place odds are the minimum value odds in the range (Photo 2).  In other words, the final Place odds could either be the same or higher than the value indicated. For more information on outbound commingling, customers can visit the Club’s website at https://campaigns.hkjc.com/outbound-commingling/en/.
