Supplemented into this, having shown race-by-race improvement in his four starts. Has had a break since finishing a close fourth in a 2000m Listed event at ParisLongchamp in early June. |

War Rooms |
Third in a G2 trial for the Derby at York in May – though never looking like winning – was his career highlight so far. Made little impression in a Royal Ascot G2. Improvement needed though stable going well. |

Ombudsman |
Although they were only in novice company, he is now unbeaten in two starts, most recently when stepping up to this trip and gaining a very easy victory at Leicester. Potentially very progressive. Chance. |

Sons And Lovers |
All quite good efforts in G3 and Listed company this year. Probably did best on his latest start when a close third in a 2000m Listed event at Newbury. Still lightly raced and unexposed, so maybe the best is still to come. |

Involvement |
The move up to this trip resulted in easily the best performance of his career when winning quite a prestigious ten-runner handicap at Newmarket last month. Certainly deserves a crack at this Listed prize. |

Stromberg |
Although not able to match the front-running winner, he would have a chance here based on his second in a G3 at the Curragh in May. May have found the ground too quick at Royal Ascot. |
7 |
Soldier’s Gold |
Has won some quite valuable prizes in Doha though over shorter trips than this. Travelling strongly, he looked like winning a 2000m Listed event at ParisLongchamp in June before finding one rival too strong late on. An impressive winner at a provincial track since. |
8 |
Soft Winds |
Easily justified hot favouritism over a longer trip than this at a provincial French track in June. Weakened into fourth after racing too keenly in a 2000m Listed event at Mulheim last month. |
9 |
Shiffrin |
Clear career best came when leading for most of the way to land an 1800m Chantilly G3 last September. Regressive since then and major rejuvenation required here. |
