1408m – Turf

1

El Burhan

Has justified favouritism in good style in novice company on his last two starts, latterly in runaway style at Beverley. Likely to make a big show on this handicap debut.

2

Mr Chaplin

His comprehensive Newbury maiden victory encouraged a G2 bid at Royal Ascot but that didn’t work out. Back in this lower grade he is worth considering for an in-form stable.

3

Fred On Fire

This talented colt moves into handicap company after two solid efforts – including a Newcastle win – in novice company. Pedigree positive about the rise to this trip.

4

King Of Angels

Slow at the start but fast at the finish when winning over a similar trip to this at Doncaster in July, an improved effort since being gelded. Handicap debut now.

5

Brighton Boy

Despite hanging left in the closing stages, he impressively got off the mark at Chester in July. The rise to this trip looks suitable for this first handicap.

6

Defence Missile

Stable in good form. Led for some of the trip when third in a novices’ event over 1394m at Salisbury in July.

7

Original Outlaw

Having gone close to victory at Kempton in June, he was favourite for a novices’ event at Salisbury in July and it was a good effort despite finding one rival much too good.

8

Jet Packer

Finished second of nine at Newbury early July but didn’t improve on that when moving up to similar trip at Epsom, not quickening late on. The stable has won this before.

9

Substitute

Having shown ability in novices’ events – including a first-time-out Ripon win – she was then an outsider when down the field in a Royal Ascot G3.

10

Fearless Freddy

Race-by-race progress and this trip looked very suitable when he won a maiden over a similar trip at Leicester in June, the second home enhancing the form by winning since.

11

Cracking Man

From a stable packed with 2yo talents but he will need to improve on this handicap debut though did go close to winning what looked a fairly weak maiden at Carlisle.

12

Sunshine State

Accelerated quite impressively to win an all-weather maiden at Chelmsford on her debut but faded out in a Listed event at Newmarket 9 days later. Up to this trip first time.

13

Dukes Of Haather

Showing gradual improvement and already proven in handicap company after swooping from the back to win over a similar trip at Chester in July. Raised 6lb for that.

14

Gold Medallist

Stable do really well with 2yos. Slow from the gates on a couple of occasions but has shown speed over shorter trips than this, eased 2lb since his handicap debut fourth last time.

15

Veydari

Was a beaten favourite on his first two starts, again failing to live up to expectations when racing too keenly last time. An expensive purchase who should benefit for this trip.

16

Glitter Code

Briefly looked threatening in a Brighton maiden over a similar trip in July but tended to hang left when under pressure in the closing stages. Handicapping now.

17

Kon’nichiwa

Has not threatened to win on any of his three starts, though doing a bit better at Sandown last time. Debut in a handicap now.
