Is a three-time winner, very consistent and can serve up way more than he did last time when eight of fifteen. Others are preferred for the win but he cannot be ignored.

Was unlucky to not have finished closer last time in the Durban July as he suffered interference early in the race. He has a chance with better luck in transit.

Is a tad erratic and now becoming hard to assess and predict his performance. His penultimate start when running on strongly is what sparks the interest but others are preferred.

Was running on well last time and seems to have had a great preparation into this race. This Tarry inmate has strong each way claims.

Future Pearl

Caught the eye in the Durban July when running on nicely to finish a close up sixth behind Oriental Charm. He rates the one they all have to beat. Last year’s winner.

Madison Valley

Has won his last two and clearly loves the distance. He has an undeniable hat trick chance and must be factored into all bets. Good chance.

Baratheon

Is an interesting runner and can be suggested as the value choice. His penultimate run was good and he has won four times before. Respect and include his chances.

Master Fuego

Faces his toughest test to date but could well be up to the task at hand as his overall form is solid. He gets a handy galloping weight and is worth respecting here.

Aragosta

Is testing our patience with regards to when his next career win is coming. He is a tad erratic and hard to assess but on very best form, can be hugely competitive here.

Future Swing

Can be expected to serve up way better than he did in his last run which was the Durban July. His form before that was encouraging and despite the draw, has claims.

Ponte Pietra

Faces a very stiff task. He is taking time to get it all right again. He has been far from disgraced in his previous races but has more of a place chance than that of a winning one.

Raiseahallelujah

Finished eleventh last time but not far off the winner. He was a winner of his penultimate start at Turffontein and can be expected to return to better form. Chance.

Zeus

Showed some return to form last time when finishing fourth under Gavin Lerena and must be considered for the quartet based on that alone. He has won ten times which is the most winning times of any horse in this field.

Shoot The Rapids

Ran an absolute cracker in the Vase over 3000m last time and caught the attention. He is a likely outsider in the race, but could lurk into the back end of the quartet.

Is the first reserve and will find it very tough if getting into the race. His current form is way below best and he would be a surprise winner.

Is the second reserve runner and will find it tough if making the field. She takes on the males and needs serious improvement on current form. Prefer others.
