G1 – 1200m – Turf
1 |
Golden Sickle |
Can be forgiven for her dismal last run when way downfield over this track and trip. She is speedy, talented and can be expected to do a lot better this time. Each way chance. |
2 |
Surjay |
Is taking time to win again but is talented. In saying that, he is becoming a tad erratic and difficult to assess but he can never be excluded from any bets. He is drawn well and has claims. |
3 |
I Am Giant |
Is an interesting runner that ran a cracker in his penultimate start in a G1. He followed that up with a fair effort and is one for the shortlist. |
4 |
Royal Aussie |
Is returning from a short rest and does seem better now over a touch further. He is classy and packed with ability and should be running on powerfully at the end. Strong place chance. |
5 |
At My Command |
Is never far off the winners in recent starts, boasts strong and useful form and should be right there at the finish. Others are preferred for the win, but he can finish in the money. |
6 |
Snow Pilot |
Let the team down last time but can be forgiven for that run. He went close to a top sort in his penultimate start and should bounce right back to good form. Chance. |
7 |
Sun Blushed |
Caught the eye when tested in a G1 last time when close up behind Lucky Lad. Based on that alone, he could threaten here and could be worth including in larger quartet perms. |
8 |
Just Be Lekker |
Has won impressively in her last two starts. This is a considerable step up in class but the way she is improving, she could well be up to the task at hand. A likely outsider that will have claims. |
9 |
Quasiforsure |
Is taking time to win again and is a tad off form. He is a six-time winner and knows how to get it all right. Best to wait for him to bounce back to better form before including him. |
10 |
Mrs Browning |
Does have a deep draw to overcome but gets the very capable Gavin Lerena in the irons for Sean Tarry. She can never be ignored and can be expected to be competitive. |
11 |
Gladatorian |
Quickened powerfully when winning three starts back and has run two good races since. He does face tough opposition but has a turn of foot, which will hold him in good stead. |
12 |
Cruise Control |
Caught the eye in the penultimate run here when nearly winning. Ignore his last run and despite his draw, can be right there at the finish. He has ability. |
13 |
Lucky Lad |
Dual G1 winner. His record speaks for itself. He has won seven from eleven and has an electric turn of foot. He has a strong winning chance and is the one to beat. |
