G3 – 1200m – Turf

1

Tribalist

High-class miler and very effective at Saint-Cloud (seven wins). 4lb penalty for his G2 win this year needn’t be prohibitive if coping with the step back in trip, although Deauville record (0 from 3) is a slight concern.

2

Breizh Sky

Goes well when fresh and a steady improver this term. Coming off two solid efforts in G3 company and unlikely to be far away at the finish.

3

Batwan

Not getting any younger at the age of nine but his enthusiasm remains undiminished judged on creditable Listed second at Chantilly on 29 June. Second in this last year.

4

Saint Lawrence

Not performing at the same level as last season when G1 placed here. Not much encouragement to be had from his Royal Ascot effort (19th), but clearly capable of better and so not dismissed.

5

Spycatcher

This smart flyer proved very effective here last season when winning this followed by a close second in G1 grade. Has yet to turn the corner this term but his British form stacks up sufficiently to warrant a leading role here.

6

Shouldvebeenaring

Top British sprinter has been supplemented for this. Has his sights lowered after two off the board efforts but this dual G1 placed runner clearly advances very strong claims in this grade.

7

Game Run

Clearly not at same level as last season when a G2 winner. Not disgraced when second at Saint-Cloud last time but more improvement is needed.

8

Zerostress

This smart German customer got back on track following Listed win at Dortmund. More is required here but his overall Deauville record is encouraging and so not discounted for a place.

9

Shartash

He rediscovered his form after switch to a British trainer on his first two starts, but didn’t deliver (eighth) when upped to G1 grade at Royal Ascot. Although he wasn’t beaten far on that occasion and likely to benefit from the drop in class.

10

Knock On

Listed win at Longchamp last October has been her career highlight to date. Acts on soft ground but form since the above race has been patchy.

11

Electric Storm

This lightly raced filly has done little wrong. Her listed success at Haydock was no less than she deserved and, given further improvement, is clearly primed for another bold display.
