1600m – Turf

1 Coeur d’Or His last career victory came when beating 21 rivals in a prestigious handicap over this course and distance. Hasn’t quite made the same impact in four starts since. A late closer.
2 Blues Emperor Only just failed to win a prestigious handicap over this course and distance last August. Led for some of the trip in another hot handicap here last month.
3 State Actor A lightly-raced in-form gelding who has won over this course and distance on his last two starts, most recently when delivering a strong finish on his handicap debut. Raised 9lb.
4 Shayzann May have needed his first start for over eight and a half months when sixth of seven at Gowran Park this month. Drops down to a trip that he won over last year.
5 Cheers Again Unbeaten in three runs on the all-weather at Dundalk, all at this trip. He’s 0-11 on turf but had a rough passage when a close third here in May.
6 Booyea Mostly competes over further than this but dropped to 1400m to win at Fairyhouse this month. May have been lucky there, and challenging at the weights now.
7 Casanova Good efforts in handicaps over this course and distance in all three starts this season. He again should not be far away in this very competitive affair.
8 Physique Yet to win since moving from the UK but his last two starts have been encouraging. A close third at Limerick last time, not inconvenienced by the fast surface.
9 No More Porter Beaten in his last 23 starts, but with quite a few placed efforts his handicap mark is not sinking significantly. Couldn’t reach the leaders when seventh in this last year.
10 Verhoyen Has won seven of his 78 starts, the most recent coming with a front-running victory in a 1400m handicap at this meeting last year. This trip may be too testing.
11 Benavente Nine of his last ten starts have come on an all-weather surface and he is yet to win on turf. Made some late headway over 1400m here last time out.
12 Morse Made a winning handicap debut on his fourth career start on 7 April on heavy ground at Leopardstown over this trip and despite a troubled passage.
13 Brains A 13-time winning veteran though most success has come on all-weather surfaces. But he did win on turf at Roscommon in May benefitting from an easy lead.
14 Concluding Call Won a 1600m maiden at Navan on her penultimate start. Couldn’t get into the action in a steadily run handicap at Leopardstown this month.
15 May Night A seven-time all-weather winner, he had his first turf success with a front-running performance over 1600m at Cork in May. This looks hard for him.
