G2 – 2392m – Turf

1

Agenda

Has done well in all three start since 2yo and this was borne out with creditable second in the G3 Chester Vase.

2

Calandagan

This smart performer underscored his good form with two wins in recognised French Derby trials. Although excluded from the classics on account of being a gelding, the French visitor is clearly in a good place right now.

3

Chief Little Rock

Clearly has a lot of improvement in him, and heading the right way judged on the manner of his all the way win in G3 at the Curragh.

4

Defiance

Didn’t back up promising return at Epsom (second) following a modest effort in Listed at Lingfield (seventh). He’s clearly better than that but still has something to prove.

5

Diego Velazquez

Ran a fair race in the G1 French 2,000 Guineas (fourth) but didn’t back that up in the G1 French Derby (eighth) due to a combination of ground being too soft and wide trip. Shapes as if a longer trip such as this will suit.

6

Harper’s Ferry

Clearly well regarded (has G1 entry) and beat a well-regarded type in receipt of 7lb at Windsor last time. Low mileage on the clock and type to improve with his racing.

7

Macduff

He didn’t cut it in the G1 Epsom Derby (13th) but enters each way calculations on the basis of his creditable second in the G3 Classic Trial in Sandown.

8

Mondo Man

Ran an eye-catching race in the G1 French Derby, having made up a lot of ground to finish fifth after missing the break. Respected.

9

Royal Supremacy

This consistent type is holding his form well and not disgraced when second in the G2 Italian Derby, but a lot more will be needed here.

10

Space Legend

Is the type to improve with his racing and took another step forward with close second in Listed race at Goodwood.

11

The Euphrates

Beaten 8.5L when fourth in the G3 Lingfield Derby Trial, and unlikely to be good enough on that evidence.

12

Theory Of Tides

Is building nicely following minor wins at Yarmouth and Nottingham, and a bold display is clearly anticipated.

13

Voyage

Newbury debut winner unseating rider shortly after the gates opened in G1 Epsom Derby last time. Clearly well regarded but difficult to gauge otherwise.

14

War Rooms

Ran very creditably when third at 25/1 in G2 at York behind an impressive winner. Possibly flattered by that effort but clearly performed well in past races.
