G1 – 1600m – Turf

1 Catedral Showed little in three starts this term. Showed the second fastest clock for the last 600m in the G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) in March last time but finished ninth. Will need more.
2 Gaia Force Yet to win since a G2 victory in September 2022, but showed good 4th effort in this race 2023. Ran over 2000m and 2200m last autumn and resumed with a satisfactory 2nd over his first-time dirt in the G1 February Stakes (1600m) last time.
3 Red Mon Reve A five-time winner in 14 starts. Bounced back for 2nd in the G2 Keio Hai Spring Cup (1400m) over this course last time. Usually stays rear for the late burst.
4 Geoglyph The G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) winner of 2022 showed little in the highest level last year but has been in upward curve in two starts at 1800m and 2000m this term. His conformation with good quality of muscle should suit the distance.
 
5 Namur Landed her first G1 triumph in the Mile Championship (1600m) last year. Showed impressive turn of speed when 3rd in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (1600m) and 2nd in the G1 Dubai Turf (1800m) in March. Showed little when 8th in the G1 Victoria Mile (1600m) last time.
6 Dobune Sold at 2021 Chiba Thoroughbred Sale for 517,110,000 yen, the son of Deep Impact yet to win a group race. Took command and picked up well 2nd in the G2 Nakayama Kinen (1800m) in February last time.
7 Romantic Warrior Emerged as a genuine Hong Kong star over middle distance.  Added his success for three wins in a row in the G1 FWD QEII Cup (2000m) at Sha Tin in April. Dropping down the distance to 1600m is the first time since January 2023. Should be the one to focus.
8 Air Lolonois Has not tasted any success for over two years. Returned from a break of over 10 months and a gelding operation to race in the G2 Yomiuri Milers Cup (1600m) in April last time and finished 3.75L 4th.
9 Parallel Vision Showed suitability to 1600m when winning the 3-win class over dirt in October 2023. Switched back to turf but remained unbeaten in two starts this term over this distance.
10 Soul Rush Finishing on the board in 11 out of 13 starts since December 2021, all over 1600m. Still continues to improve as one of the Japanese talents, beaten by Golden Sixty in fourth in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (1600m) and won by 1.75L in the G2 Yomiuri Milers Cup (1600m) in April.
 
11 Win Carnelian Winless since victory in the G3 Tokyo Shimbun Hai (1600m) in February 2023. Rounded off the 2023 season with a disappointing 11th in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile (1600m) in November but showed the upward curve in recent two starts this season. 4.5L 4th in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen (1200m) last time.
12 Fierce Pride Won her first group race in the G3 Turquoise Stakes (1600m) at Nakayama in December 2023. Showed class when 1.25L 2nd in the G1 Victoria Mile (1600m) last time.
13 Stella Veloce He handles well between 1600m and 2400m, with eight top-three finishes over this distance range out of 15 starts. Back in action in October 2023 from a break of around 19 months, getting organized himself in two starts this term.
14 Corepetiteur Has two wins over this distance. Landed his first group race success in the G3 Kyoto Kimpai (1600m) in January before 8th in the G2 Yomiuri Milers Cup (1600m) in April last time.
15 Voyage Bubble A six-time winner in 18 starts.  Surprised at the odds of 45/1 in the 2023 BMW Hong Kong Derby.  Secured his first G1 success in the Stewards’ Cup (1600m) at Sha Tin in January 2024. Finished a weakening 13th in the G1 Dubai Turf (1800m) in March but bounced back for 3rd finish in the G1 FWD Champions Mile (1600m) in April last time.
16 Elton Barows Won four races straight at 1600m and 1800m including at G2 and G3 last year. Solid 4th to Namur, who was 3rd in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (1600m) and 2nd in the G1 Dubai Turf (1800m), in the G1 Mile Championship in November. Finished only 8th in the G1 FWD Champions Mile (1600m) last time.
17 Serifos The 2022 G1 Mile Championship winner placed 5th in the G1 Dubai Turf (1800m) before 1.25L 2nd in this race last year. Showed upward curve from disappointing 7th in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (1600m) when 1.75L 2nd in the G2 Yomiuri Milers Cup (1600m) in sole start this term latest.
18 Danon Scorpion Well-bred pedigree by Lord Kanaloa out of a Canadian champion mare Lexie Lou. Had two-digit finishes in five starts last year but bounced back to finish 4th in the G2 Keio Hai Spring Cup (1400m) at Tokyo last time.
