Sunrise Earth

Won the newcomer race (2000m) in October 2023 and the following listed race (2200m) in February. Drifted outside at the final corner and unable to reach contention and showed little in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas).

Regaleira

The filly showed her great turn of foot to win the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) in December 2023. Sent to the favourite in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) and displayed the fastest speed for the last 600m in the field but was too far back to threaten the leaders and finished sixth.

June Take

Already raced nine times since debut in July 2023. Made use of the inside draw and won his first group race in the G2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai (2200m) last time.

Byzantine Dream

Two wins in a row since debut including the G3 Kisaragi Sho (1800m) in February. Broke poorly and never threatened in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) when 13th last time.

Danon Decile

Showed impressive acceleration for his first group race win in the G3 Keisei Hai (2000m) in January. Withdrawn in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) due to lame in the right fore leg in April.

Cosmo Kuranda

Landed his first group race success in the G2 Yayoi Sho (2000m) in March. Sent to the seventh pick in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) but joined the rally for the lead and finished a neck 2nd.

Mr G T

Well-bred son of Duramente out of mare Listen by Sadler’s Wells. Claimed the Listed Wakaba Stakes (2000m) at Hanshin in March. Showed effort until 100m remaining but tired for 10th finish in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas).

Urban Chic

After two wins in a row, finished 0.75L 2nd in the G3 Keisei Hai (2000m) at Nakayama in January. Showed third fastest late charge in the last 600m and finished fourth in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) last time. Sired by Suave Richard who won over this course and the distance.

Danon Ayers Rock

Purchased at 2022 Japan Racing Horse Association’s Select Sale Yearling Session for 495,000,000 yen. Found to have suffered an injury after 7th finish in the G2 Yayoi Sho (2000m) but returned to the turf and won the Listed Principal Stakes (2000m) over this course last time.

Sunrise Zipangu

Mixed form with 1.5L 2nd to this year’s G1 Kentucky Derby 3rd-placed Forever Young in the JPN G3 JBC Nisai Yushun (1800m, dirt) in November before finishing 2.75L 3rd in the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) in December. Showed little in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas).

Sugar Kun

The half-brother to Kitasan Black who sired Equinox, the highest-rated horse in the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings in 2023. Extended his winning streak to three in the G2 Aoba Sho over this course and distance last month.

Sixpence

The son of Kizuna handled the extended distance to 1800m for the first time and won impressively by 3.5L in the G2 Spring Stakes. Remained unbeaten in three starts. Targeted this race without racing the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas).

Shin Emperor

A full brother to the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass. Never missed on the board in five career starts, but beaten in recent three starts.

Gonbade Qabus

Won decisively by 2L in the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup (1600m) over this course in October. Showed his talent on his return from a break of around seven months in the G1 NHK Mile Cup (1600m) and finished fourth last time.

Justin Milano

Unbeaten in three starts. Updated the course record (1m 57.1s) by 0.7 seconds and claimed the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) last time. Two wins over this course. A serious player.

Meisho Tabaru

Won the G3 Mainichi Hai (1800m) by 6 lengths over the yielding track in March. In the latest 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas), set the fast pace but faded in the top of the stretch and finished last.

Shonan La Punta

Unplaced in two starts at group races in 2023. Finished second only a head behind to Sugar Kun in the G2 Aoba Sho (2400m) over this course and distance last time.

Ecoro Walz

Finished 1.25L 2nd in the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes (1600m) in December 2023. Fifth in the G3 Kyodo News Hai (1800m) in February. Trailed in rear and launched fastest late kick in the last 600m and finished seventh in the 2000m G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas).
