1200m - Turf

1

Willem Twee

From a stable that have been in good form, he looks to appreciate this trip and on good or faster ground. Last seen when a solid third in Listed company at Lingfield.

2

Significantly

A brilliant speedster when on top form as he showed winning a prestigious dash at Ayr last year. Had a poor passage but still ran well in a Newmarket G3 last time.

3

Juan Les Pins

Hasn’t looked like winning all-weather handicaps on his last three starts but it may be significant that he won a handicap over this course and distance back in 2022.

4

Rumstar

Finished sixth in a Listed event at this meeting last year. Didn’t make an impact on his only start this year and faces a tough task off this handicap mark.

5

Ferrous

Figures suggest improved performances since being gelded, winning both starts this year most recently with a clear-cut defeat of 11 rivals at Kempton.

6

Wiltshire

Having his first 2024 start, and for this stable, he delivered a clear career best – also gaining a first turf success – with a fast-finishing victory over this course and distance. A serious player on that evidence.

7

Lethal Levi

First start at Newbury, though his six victories have all come at this trip. Well below his best on recent outings, and is fitted with blinkers now.

8

Under The Twilight

A good third on only previous run here. Has also won her last two starts, narrow handicap victories at Salisbury and Windsor. On a challenging rating now, though can’t be ruled out.

9

Gisburn

Although there have been much less exciting performances here since, he was twice a course and distance winner back in 2021. Ran well last time. Best on slow ground.

10

United Approach

Not seen for over a year ago but did win his last two races when favourite each time, looking like a speedy performer with those victories in maiden and novice company.

11

Woolhampton

Gained her third win and probably a best career performance when surging from off the pace to beat seven rivals in a 1000m dash at Ascot at the beginning of this month. Also effective at 1200m.

12

Mitrosonfire

More familiar at 1400m these days but six of his seven wins have come at around 1200m. Beaten in his last 19 starts, this looks a tough assignment.
